Finest Food Age Lampong Pepper

In southern Indonesia in Sumatra, this extraordinary pepper grows on volcanic soil. Its high mineral content gives the pepper its special character and its complex taste. It has a mild pungency and a complex bouquet of cinnamon, cloves, chocolate and liquorice. Since the pepper releases its flavour slowly, it is great for stews.

Optically, Lampong pepper differs significantly from conventional pepper varieties. Instead of peppercorns, you'll find elongated cones.
