Gewürze Lodner Austrian Fine Mountain Salt

Alpen salt is a rock salt found deep within the Bavarian and Austrian Alps in the heart of the Salzkammergut. 250 million years ago, a thick salt layer was formed due geological changes caused by the dehydration of a primordial ocean.

The former sea salt was trapped deep inside the mountain during the formation of the Alps. To date, the salt is enriched with many minerals and is well protected against environmental influences. This natural alpine salt is removed from the purest natural salt deposits by miners.
