Description
Originally the black cumin seed was found in West Asia, Iraq, and Turkey, but it is also found in southern Europe, India and North Africa. The black cumin seed, also called Nigella, tastes slightly peppery. In Turkey, black cumin is used for flatbread, in northern India, it seasons vegetable curries. Toast the seeds briefly to develop their spicy flavor. The flavor is reminiscent of light sesame notes. Black cumin helps with the so-called lifestyle diseases such as allergies and eczema and also strengthens the immune system.
