No Chinese pork, poultry or duck dish would taste right without this five-spice mix! The 5-Spices mixture is also suitable for the preparation of marinades and exotic, dark rice sauces.
2kg meaty pork ribs, 1 onion, 1 T soy sauce, 5 T oil, 1 tsp. garlic pepper, 2 tsp five-spice blend, 1 tsp. sambal, 2 tsp sugar, salt. Divide the ribs into small pieces. Mix a spicy marinade with 2 tablespoons oil, half of the chopped onion and the ingredients. Rub the marinate into the ribs and let it marinate for a few hours. Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a wok and fry the remaining onions until translucent. Add meat and fry until golden brown. Add the remaining marinade and simmer for 5 min. Deglaze with 1 cup water and continue to simmer until the sauce has thickened. Bon Appetite!
