Curcuma is an integral part of every curry mix! The spice gives curry its typical yellow colour. The very mild flavour is suitable for Indian, Arabic and Asian cuisine.

• Curcuma is obtained from the rhizome of a ginger plant. Freshly grated it has a slightly tingly taste and has resinous notes of ginger and lemon. Dried, it develops a slightly bitter, earthy, woody flavour with a light citrus note. In traditional Ayurveda, it is considered a "hot" spice, and is said to have a purifying and energizing effect.
