Description
Emmer is an ancient form of wheat. The flour is often used for making sweet yeast pastries, short pastries or cakes. Since it has a coarse, somewhat gritty texture, the Emmer flour is also suitable for making pasta, bread, dumplings or pizza dough. In Italy it is served with cream cheese and fresh herbs similar to polenta and can also be used for soups or stews.
- When making bread, add up to 10% Emmer flour to make your bread spicier and darker.
- The grain was grown in the Middle East 10,000 years ago. The flour is known for its nutrient-rich ingredients and is becoming increasingly important in agriculture.
