Manuka honey is characterised by its very special, bold flavour. It is traditionally used to sweeten dishes as well as for external use in skincare products. The valuable nectar of the Manuka bush blossoms (Leptospermum scoparium) has a particularly high methylglyoxal (MGO for short) content. The MGO specification indicates how many milligrams of MGO are contained in one kilo of honey.
