Cumin

Use:
Cumin seeds are used dried, ground or whole. Cumin is essential in Arab, Far Eastern and Latin American cuisine and is an important component of the garam masala spice mix. It is also used in many curries!

Origins:
Cumin probably originates from the eastern Mediterranean or Egypt. The Egyptians were using cumin as a cooking spice as far back as thousands of years ago. The main production areas are now located in Iran, Indonesia, China and the southern Mediterranean.
