Description
The flower buds containing eugenol, vanillin and pinene are native to the Moluccas. Cloves are an ancient spice and were highly valued by chefs in Europe, North Africa and most of Asia because of their exceptionally strong flavour. Many spice mixtures contain cloves, such as the five-spice powder (Panchaphoron), many curry powders and the Moghul variant of garam masala.
