Description
Since the 2018 vintage (winner of the Falstaff Federspiel Grand Prix), this white wine has been produced in collaboration with the Sommelier Union Austria. A rare variety with a lot of expression and charm!
The Neuburger grape was discovered in 1860 in Wachau where the origins of this old grape variety can still be seen today. It thrives particularly well in the “Spitzer Graben” region, in the westernmost part of the Wachau, as it prefers slightly cooler conditions.
On the nose there are ripe apples with a nutty note. Walnut and subtle spice send their greetings. Very juicy on the palate, dry, with fresh, subtle acidity. Light almond nuances paired with fully ripe red apple. A beautifully balanced wine that is quite accessible. Can be matured for a little longer, for another three to five years.
Pairs well with appetisers and snacks as well as heartier and traditional homecooked food.
