This organic whole grain rice is an iconic and natural rice variety from Italy. This autochthonous rice variety was discovered in 1972 by Domenico Marchetti who named "Rosa" after his wife. The grains have an elegant, pearly lustre and a fine, aromatic flavour that add a unique Mediterranean accent to every dish. This "forest rice" is grown in unspoilt nature surrounded by trees and bushes in a habitat that also offers protection to wild animals. The sustainable cultivation method with green manure protects the soil and does not require ploughing or fertiliser. This keeps the soil rich in nutrients and preserves the natural variety of flavours of the rice.
