German packaging: Pyramidensalz - "Fingersalz" Schwarz

These little black salt pyramids can be used to season hot or cold dishes. In a complex manufacturing process, seawater is heated with UV lamps., creating little cubes of salt that eventually form pyramids. After the salt pyramids have been manually skimmed from the surface of the water and are dry, they're smoked. Activated carbon is responsible for the eye-catching colour.

The spectrum of flavours of the salt ranges from mild to fruity to slightly bitter with a salty finish.

Use:

  • Rub the flakes of salt between your fingers and sprinkle over finished dishes. The salt goes well with fish, seafood, dark and light meats, as well as vegetables and salads. You shouldn't use it for cooking, but only to give your dishes a special finish.
